Heading: Government of India has exempted the cruise tourists arriving with e-visa from the requirement of bio-metric enrollment. Posted On: 4 January, 2018

Government has now exempted the cruise tourists arriving with e-visa from the requirement of bio-metric enrollment.

The entry seaports for tourists availing e-visa are Mumbai, Cochin, Mormugao, Chennai and New Mangalore.

According to the Ministry Of Home Affairs, keeping in view the difficulties being experienced in adhering to the international norm of immigration clearance in maximum 90 minutes due to inadequate number of immigration counters and infrastructure presently available at the above mentioned five major seaports it has been decided, with the approval of the competent authority, to exempt the cruise tourists arriving with e-visa at the ports of Mumbai, Cochin, Mormugao, Chennai and New Mangalore from the requirement of biometric enrolment for a period of three years i.e. till 31.12.2020.
