Germany update – New Delhi

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, New Delhi will restart accepting the applications for Schengen visa (all categories) from 16th August 2021. All the applications will be submitted at VFS with prior appointment only.

All Schengen-applicants will have to sign a declaration. They do not have to be fully vaccinated at the time of handing in the visa file, but it will be checked pre boarding at the airport. Please note that Germany thus far only recognizes the Covishield vaccine from India, so those who were not yet vaccinated or received Covaxin shots can only travel if they have been pre-approved by the Embassy as “essential travellers” who are exempt from the travel ban, and must undergo mandatory quarantine in Germany. Covishield vaccination certificate must contain either passport number or date of birth.

With recognized vaccination, no quarantine is required upon arrival. Please carry a negative PCR-test, taken not earlier than 72 hours before arrival and register through www.einreiseanmeldung.de.
