Sri Lanka's Immigration has launched an E-Visa program

Posted On Monday, April 22, 2024

The Department of Immigration and Emigration of Sri Lanka has implemented new visa regulations.

The new regulations, implemented in line with the provisions of Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2360/24 of 27 November 2023, can be accessed at www.documents.gov.lk for all required details, including fees applicable to each visa category. The said gazette notification is also appended below for ease of reference.

Further, Sri Lanka has shifted from the Electronic Travel Authentication (ETA) visa programme to a new E-visa scheme with effect from 17 April 2024. In this context, the ETA website was discontinued on 16 April 2024.

Accordingly, all eligible nationalities intending to enter Sri Lanka by air or sea for the purposes of tourism, business and transit, are requested to visit the ‘Official Sri Lanka e-Visa Website’ at www.srilankaevisa.lk. This is the sole authorized website of the Department of Immigration and Emigration of Sri Lanka and is operated exclusively by IVS-GBS and VFS Global.
