Cuba to Replace Tourist Cards with Mandatory e-Visa Starting July 1, 2025

Posted On Friday, April 25, 2025

Beginning July 1, 2025, Cuba will officially discontinue its traditional tourist card system, requiring all international travelers to obtain an e-Visa prior to entry. This transition marks a significant step in modernizing Cuba’s border control and simplifying the entry process.

The move, led by the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba (MINTUR), is part of a broader initiative to streamline and centralize the visa application system. The tourist card system will be permanently phased out as of June 30, 2025.
