As per the latest development, Vietnam is all set to extend the validity of e-visa, after its government gave its nod to extend visa reform measures. This move will provide a major relief to international tourists visiting Vietnam, which has further gained pace as a popular tourist destination in recent years.
Reports have it that Vietnam’s lawmakers on June 24 in the National Assembly passed an approval to increase the validity of electronic visas for inbound visitors on recommendation of the government. So, effective August 1, the validity of the approved e-visa will be 90 days from the current duration of 30 days.
Currently, Indian travellers visiting Vietnam get electronic tourists visas only for 30 days, which allows them a single entry into the country. But, with the new scheme in place, visitors will now be able to stay there for a longer period of time. Therefore, the visa reforms will now open doors for tourists to stay longer in Vietnam, and they will also be able to explore multiple regions of the country. The tourist visa costs USD 25, while visa processing time currently is 3-4 days.
The proposal includes the mandate to allow multiple entries to tourists, instead of single entry visas to boost tourism in the country. It’s likely that this move will be significantly helpful for Indian tourists, who visit this destination in large numbers.
